Youth Members

The Sunshine Beach SLSC Youth focuses on the ongoing development of the clubs members between the ages of 14-25 years. Our Youth make up around 1/3 of our active membership. These valuable people in 2007/2008 season volunteered around 2000 hours ensuring a safe swimming environment for he public. In the past, many of our Youth have been involved in rescuing and saving lives whilst on patrol, holidays and even after training.

Due to our commitment to the young members of our club we are proud to have been awarded Surf Lifesaving Queensland's Youth Development Club of the Year for 2005/2006 & 2006/2007 seasons.

At Sunshine Beach SLSC we believe in supporting & developing our youth for the club & the communities future. We provide ongoing training to further develop the skills and fitness for the 14's to 25's through

1. offering opportunities to obtain awards
2. subsidised swim squads, board, beach, ski and iron person training
3. patrol & first aid training

We also provide opportunities for members to participate in team building & social activities. Some of our past activities have included an annual Surfari to Noosa Northshore, movie nights, abseiling, laser tag, NZ Ski trip and plenty more.

The Youth themselves plan their activities and raise the funds to cover costs.
